Informal and formal pronouns for you in other languages

In Norwegian the informal pronoun for you is “du”, while the formal pronouns are “De”, “Dere” or “Dem”. Note that the formal pronouns in Norwegian are not used very often anymore.

In French the informal pronoun for you is “Tu”, while the formal pronoun is “Vous”. The formal pronouns are still in use in French.

Many other languages like for example Spanish, German, Italian, Polish, Russian and Japanese use informal and formal pronouns.
