The Norwegian conditions for marriage

The Norwegian conditions for marriage are conditions that are stipulated in the Marriage Act. Some og these conditions are:

– you have to 18 years old to get married.
– a marriage have to be voluntary on the part of both parties.
– The parties getting married cannot be closely related (for example siblings or parent and child)
– a person cannot be married if they are already married or in a registered partnership.
– if any previous marriage or partnership has ended through death or divorce, the administration and division of the matrimonial property must have been started or completed.
