How do you imagine your future life? What choices do you face, and which direction will you take?
The future
It is difficult to say what the future holds. Some people have dreams of what they would like their futures to be like, and others have concrete plans in place to help them reach their dreams. The only thing we can be sure of is that there will be a future.
Some people find it difficult to think about the future. Some dread it, while others look forward to it, thinking about all the small and big changes that are going to happen in their lives.

Dreams for the future
What we dream about changes as we grow older. Little children may dream about playing or eating, whilst teenagers may dream of falling in love or becoming an Olympic champion in their chosen sport.
Some people may have a specific dream about a certain job they want, where they want to live, or that they will become rich. They may dream about living in the countryside or in a town, or potentially in a completely different part of the world.

Making choices
We often have to make choices, and it can be difficult to know if they are right or wrong. Perhaps it is about choosing an education, trying to work, or taking a year off? The choices are endless – the most important thing is that you do something!
Think about this: it’s not necessarily about what you want to become, or that this would be the most important choice of your life. You are already something – and you can always make new choices.

You can always make new choices
The choices we make can be both smart and stupid, but the beauty is that even the most stupid choices can teach us something – and we can make new choices later. Choices can be difficult, but they don’t define the rest of your life! You can always make new choices.
The future is often formed through coincidence – suddenly one door will open when another has closed. This is why it can be tricky to plan for the future – and it is perhaps more important to think about who you are today, and what you are planning to do next year instead of trying to plan your whole life at a very early stage.
